Dieting has never been easier. You can eat your meals at home or take them to the office and heat them up. Using a diet plan takes a lot of stress and confusion out of planning a diet and sticking to it. However, you'll still need to abide by the regulations of the diet you choose. If the company ships two week's worth of food in advance, you don't want to eat it all in a couple of days.

Be careful of portion sizes. An ideal meal is derived from all of the food groups and should include a wide variety of individual foods. Instead of loading up your plate with mashed potatoes, start with smaller portions of everything that has been prepared. If you would like a second helping, follow the same procedure. By eating from a wider variety of foods you will be providing your body with a more complex array of nutrients and you’ll be able to enjoy the many flavors as well.

Pace yourself. Unless you’re on call for surgery, you probably have a little time. Instead of jumping right into your second helping, consider a short intermission and burn some calories by helping out with the dishes. By eating more slowly, your body will give you signals when you are full. If there are leftovers you can always eat them later.

6) Bulking Agents: These fibre and gum products promises to control appetite be absorbing liquid and swelling in stomach, thus reducing hunger. But the fact is these bulking agents are indigestible. They can be harmful to the body causing obstructions in the intestines, stomach or esophagus.

This state of impaired resistance has been passed on from generation to generation, and we of today are passing it on as a heritage to our children.

About 280,000 babies under the age of one year die annually in the United States. The average lifetime is only a little more than forty years. It should be at least one hundred years. This is a very conservative statement, for many live to be considerably older, and it is within the power of each individual to prolong his life beyond what is now considered old age.

Under favorable conditions people should live in comfort and health to the age of one hundred years or more, useful and in full possession of their faculties. Barring accidents, which should be less numerous when people fully realize that unreasonable haste and speed are wasteful and that life is more valuable than accumulated wealth, human life could and should be a certainty. There should be no sudden deaths resulting from the popular diseases of today.

In fact, pneumonia, typhoid fever,tuberculosis, cancer and various other ills that are fatal to the vast majority of the race, should and could be abolished. This may sound idealistic, but though such results are not probable in the near future,they are possible.

10 Dating Tips For Divorced Guys- Part 2


So you just went through a rough divorce and are back on the single scene. What do you do?

Being in the single pool once again can be a tough scanario for many divorced men. It's unfamiliar territory and it's a little frightening.

In part of 1 this article, I discussed the first 5 steps you must take in order to break through this mindset and start dating, and more importantly ENJOY being single once again.

here are the next 5 steps in the process:

***STEP 6- Have a game plan***

When you actually meet women that you find attractive, what will you do? What will you say and how will you behave? If you are one of the guys who is completely at a loss for words, you may want to invest in yourself by reading a couple of books, attending seminars or workshops.

This requires you to leave your ego at the door, as it's no different than deciding to hire a personal fitness trainer at your gym. If you don't know what you're doing, find guys who are proficient at it, seek their advice, and model what they do.

In my seminars and workshops, I have encountered all sorts of men, single and divorced, from office workers to engineers to doctors. If you leave your ego at the door, you'll start getting the results you want.

Make sure you seek advice that produces results, regardless of whom you go to for it. This leads me to a subsection of step 6.

Avoid poor advice. Please, stay away from the Dr. Phil and dear Abbey dating advice that will make you want to hang yourself. If that type of advice has ever worked for you, then please, by all means go for it. In my observation, guys often experience worse results due to that sort of advice. Enough said on this one.

***STEP 7-Excommunicate the ex***

Never ever complain about your marriage or your ex. I don't care if your ex was a demon who crawled out of the depths of hell to torment you, do not mention her!

Do not talk about her. Please! See a professional therapist of some sort to work out your angry feeling towards her. She is not a conversational topic for the new women you're dating. This is an often repeated costly mistake.

I know you're upset and I know the temptation to badmouth here is great. However, you ought to realize that when you're doing this, your ex-wife is still controlling your life as she is costing you dates, mates, and peace of mind, because you are allowing her to consume your thoughts.

STOP allowing her to run your life.

I feel silly for having to even write this, but I have come across such a plethora of men who seem determined to shoot themselves in the foot by discussing their ex too quickly.

Once you have been dating your new mate for some time, you can perhaps discuss a few things and share some funny battle stories if you really insist on doing so. (I said a few, like twice a year).

Focus on the positive! Do not dwell on the negative.

Most people understand that divorce is a bitter experience and there is no need for you to elaborate on this.

And seriously, how can you enjoy a GREAT time with this new person you're spending time with, when you're recalling bad memories and negative emotions from the last person you were with? Let her go out of your mind.

***STEP 8 *Do not jump into another relationship immediately***

At this point, full-fledged relationships may resonate with you because they present that sense of familiarity. Again, it's like the old guy who wanted to go back to the Shawshank prison because as horrible as the situation was, it made sense. (note: I am not comparing marriage to a prison, even if some of my pals would like to make that claim.)

What I am saying is this: If you were divorced a few months ago after a lengthy marriage, you probably are not ready to jump into another super serious relationships. They say time wounds heals and you need the time to heal.

Go out and date a few different women. Don't compare each woman to your ex. I don't care if your ex-wife could convert water into wine; it's over with. Apparently, it was really crappy wine, because you didn't want to say.

Having fun ought to be part of your focus. Again, It is essential to start surrounding yourself with men who genuinely like to go out and have a good time. If you're hanging out with guys who resemble the disheveled weatherbeaten looking members of Al Bundy's no-mam club who like to bitch and snivel, you're going to be surrounded in that negative energy. Befriend people who are positive.

***STEP 9- Fix up your pad, pal***

Create an environment that is conducive to entertaining female guests. It doesn't matter if you lost the house in the settlement. Whatever! Your current place of residence should be presentable. I could easily write another lengthy article on what would create a home that is female-friendly.

For a start, make sure it's clean, paying extra attention to the bathroom and the kitchen. If your bathroom looks like it's hosting species of organisms not yet recognized by modern science, you're shooting yourself in the foot. Clean up the place even if it takes paying a housekeeper.

***STEP 10 *Be comfortable with the fact that you have kids***

Again, this goes back to attitude! I can't tell you how many guys are so worried about the fact that they have kids.

Listen, will there be some women who won't be interested in a relationship because of your kids? Yes, but there will be MANY who will be fine with it. I know guys who have girlfriend 10 year younger, who happen to have a few kids.

Is that weird? No.

In fact, I am now going to share something that is going to be some of the most invaluable dating advice you'll ever receive in your life:

*It's only weird if you think it's weird*

If you think it's weird, you will have created limiting beliefs that will control your behavior accordingly. If you let go of that belief, you will realize that there is no truth in it. You'll realize it's something that is a generalization that you created in your heard based upon unsound ideas

Destroy the limiting belief and create a new one, a new belief that says it's possible to date attractive and interesting women regardless of if you have kids, and regardless of if you are divorced.

Whether you are divorced or are divorced with kids, there are plenty of single women who will date you. Many guys are already doing this. You can do it as well. It's important to know what attract women and the responsibility falls on you to present your most attractive self.

Diet Programs And Meals - The Dissociated Diet


The Dissociated Diet is based on the theory of equilibrium between acids and bases. It works according to the laws of digestion. The main idea is to avoid eating the three major food groups at the same time, as doing so is said to wreak havoc on the digestive system. The three groups are glucides, proteins, and neutral foods. These are some of the principles.

Eat a breakfast that is rich in glucides and in proteins or one rich in fruit. If you eat fruit for breakfast, that's all you'll eat. For lunch have a protein dish, such as meat, ripe cheese, soy products, fish or seafood, berries, citrus fruits, or fruit juice, and eggs. Accompany your choice with vegetables and salad. Or you could select a neutral food such as vegetables, milk, whole milk products, ripened cheese with over 45% butterfat, raw and smoked meat or fish, and vegetable or animal oils such as mayonnaise or butter. For supper eat either a glucide-rich dish or a neutral dish. Eat snacks. The mid-morning snack may come from any of the three groups. The mid-afternoon snack may be rich in glucides or in neutral elements but should not be based on proteins. Drink a lot, about 2.5 liters or quarts. And practice a sport such as bicycling or walking. Start slowly but do it on a regular basis.

An advantage of the Disssociated Diet is the variety and balance of its meals. It relies on good dietary habits. But you must learn how foods are classified when preparing your meals.

Here are two sample menus: Menu 1 Breakfast: Scrambled eggs with ham and mushrooms. A glass of soy milk. Tea or coffee. Lunch: Spaghetti with leeks. Mid-afternoon snack: Carrot drink. Supper: Corn and zucchini stew.

Menu 2 Breakfast: Muesli with oats and apples. 150 grams (5 ounces) of light yogurt. A tablespoon of honey. Tea or coffee. Lunch: A green salad. Potato curry. The mid-afternoon snack is a yogurt and watercress drink. Supper: Bell peppers stuffed with rice.

SNACKS:

DRINKING:
You should encourage your child to drink four to six glasses of water each day, especially before meals. Water has no calories and it will help you to feel full. Other drinks can include diet sodas and lowfat milk. Avoid letting your child drink regular soft drinks or fruit juices, as they are high in calories (150-170 calories per serving).

DIET JOURNAL:
If you think it helps your child to improve his eating habits, (sometimes it does not) encourage him to keep a weekly journal of food and beverage intake. You should definitely encourage a teenager to keep track of the amount of time he spends watching television, playing videogames and exercising. You might also record your child's weight once a week.

CHECK FOOD LABELS:
It is not necessary to count calories, but you and your child should become more educated about the foods you eat and how many calories they contain. You should begin to routinely check the nutrition label of the foods that your family is eating. You want to try and eat foods low in calories and also low in fat. Be careful of many low fat or so-called diet foods, as they can still be high in calories even though they are low in fat.

CHECK FOOD SERVING SIZES:
Also, begin checking the serving size of prepared meals and snacks. A bag of chips might only have 200 calories, but you may be surprised when the serving size is only 10 chips.

Avoid serving seconds of the main course or desert. You can eat more salad or other vegetables if still hungry.

DESSERTS:

EAT AT THE TABLE:
Avoid letting your child eat meals or snacks outside of the kitchen or dining room. And discourage eating while watching TV.

You should limit how often you allow your children to eat fast food, as it is usually high in fat and calories.

WEIGHT CONTROL FOR CHILDREN - EXERCISE SUGGESTIONS:

Be physically active. It is recommended that Americans accumulate at least 30 minutes (adults) or 60 minutes (children) of moderate physical activity most days of the week.

Even greater amounts of physical activity may be necessary for the prevention of weight gain, for weight loss, or for sustaining weight loss. Plan family activities that provide everyone with exercise and enjoyment.

Provide a safe environment for your children and their friends to play actively. Encourage swimming, biking, skating, ball sports, and other fun activities.

Any weight-loss diet should be low in calories (energy) only, not in essential nutrients.

Even with extremely overweight children, weight loss should be gradual. Crash diets and diet pills can compromise growth and are not recommended by many health care professionals.

Weight lost during a diet is frequently regained unless children are motivated to change their eating habits and activity levels for a lifetime. Weight control must be considered a lifelong effort.

A policy is different from a risk assessment.



  • Policy: general vision and arrangements for the whole business.

The Act says that you must prepare a statement and bring it to the attention of all employees. The policy should be reviewed and revised as often as necessary.

These regulations place duties on employers to assess and manage risks to their employees and others arising from work activities. How this is carried out should be included in the policy.

Involving your Employees



In practice, it can be useful to involve your employees in preparing and implementing the health and safety policy. Where employees are involved in making safety rules, or devising safe working methods, they may be more likely to adhere to them, because they will understand the reasoning behind them. Also, the person who is actually doing a job can be best placed to advise on whether the proposed safe working method will work.

Informing your Employees

There are various ways to bring the policy to the attention of employees. If it is short enough, you may decide to give a copy to each employee.

If you are a larger organisation or your policy is fairly lengthy, you could post copies on notice boards or in appropriate places. Whatever you choose to do, you must make sure that you bring the policy to the attention of all employees.

You must provide training for your employees to ensure that they:



  • know how to work safely and without risks to health


  • know about your health and safety policy, how you implement it and the part they have to play


  • are aware of their health and safety responsibilities towards themselves, other employees and people visiting your premises.




Training is likely to be particularly important in certain circumstances. For instance, when:



  • new people join your business - from employees to work-placement students


  • employees change jobs within the business


  • an existing risk increases - perhaps because of a greater volume of work


  • a new risk is identified - perhaps when new equipment is purchased




Remember that refresher training is particularly important so that complacency doesn't creep in.



Monitoring and Review

Monitoring that the policy is still effective is vital. There are many ways that this can be done, including carrying out spot checks or safety inspections using prepared checklists.

More formally, effective monitoring can be achieved through audits and by reviewing management reports and accident investigations.



What should be in the Policy?

A policy is a written statement and should outline the following:



  • The responsibilities of those people using a certain area of the premises.


  • The Health & Safety risks that arise from the work activities and how they should be controlled


  • The name(s) of the employees’ representative(s) concerning Health & Safety


  • Who is responsible for providing safe equipment and maintaining its safety


  • The location of the Health & Safety poster


  • Who is responsible for informing and training employees for Health & Safety


  • Location of first aid equipment and the name of the person(s) who is responsible for recording accidents


  • Who is responsible for monitoring Health & Safety


  • Who is responsible for carrying out risk assessments and making sure that it is always valid and put into use




Is it Possible for Employer to Delegate Responsibility?



The organisation section of your policy should clearly say who is responsible for what. The overall responsibility for safety rests on the employer, but day-to-day responsibility can be delegated to others within the business.

In smaller businesses, it may be very easy to decide who needs to do what for the purposes of health and safety.

As businesses get larger, the organisation section of the policy may need to set out the responsibilities of staff at different levels of the hierarchy within the business.

Construction Safety Plans

Construction safety requires skill, experience, planning, and training. No matter what type of construction you do, from putting up a building to installing a pipeline, you have to know exactly what you're doing. A principal contractor must prepare a construction safety plan before construction work starts.

  • whether there is a WHS Officer appointed


  • expected start date


  • estimated duration of the work


  • type of construction


  • plant provided for common use


  • site rules


  • the risks the principal contractor is obliged to manage


  • proposed control measures for the risks


  • how the controls will be implemented


  • arrangements for monitoring and reviewing controls


  • emergency procedures


  • public safety strategies




The plan must be written so it is easy to understand, signed and dated by the principal contractor. It must be available for the length of the project.



Legal Obligations to Provide Health and Safety Policy



The obligation to provide a health and safety policy originally arises under section 2(3) of the HSWA. In cases of flagrant disregard, enforcement officers may issue improvement notices which if contravened lead to the ultimate potential sanctions of criminal penalties, including large fines and imprisonment.

Inspectors from the local authority Environmental Health Department, or HSE are responsible for enforcing health and safety law, and organisations can be prosecuted for breaches. All workplaces must be registered with either of these two bodies. Employees can report any breaches of the legislation or seek advice from them.



How should a Written Policy look?

A written health and safety policy does not need to be complicated or time consuming. It tells staff and others about your commitment to health and safety, and simply describes how you will implement and monitor your health and safety controls

Diet and Eczema, Health for Life!

By paying attention to the food we eat and through planning a careful diet, the closer you will be able to get to understanding the underlying cause of your eczema flare ups.

By placing cream and oils on your skin, and avoiding contact with irritants like chemicals, dust etc is a way of approaching your eczema form the outside of the body. However, this is simply a way of suppressing the symptoms, not finding the cause and through paying extra attention to what you eat the symptoms are being attacked from the inside out not outside in.



Although just saying a change in your diet may seem like a simple and obvious approach, in reality it is a lot more complicated. Because eczema is a multi-factorial condition (that is caused by a combination of different factors), there is no single treatment that works for everyone.



The fiber in flaxseeds may also help against cholesterol, since it is soluble (similar to that in oats).




There are also many ways of consuming the seeds. You can simply just chew them. You can grind the seeds to make a power.

In large doses, or when taken with inadequate water, flaxseed may precipitate bowel obstruction via a mass effect. The effects of flaxseed on blood glucose levels are not clear, although hyperglycemic effects have been reported in one case series.




Human studies have shown that flaxseed can modestly reduce serum total and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol concentrations, reduce postprandial glucose absorption, decrease some markers of inflammation, and raise serum levels of the omega-3 fatty acids, ALA and eicosapentaenoic acid.





One of the simplest things you can do to stay healthy and help your body heal itself is to eat a nutritious diet. However, if you suspect food to be a factor in your eczema, what foods can you eat and what should you avoid?



The first point you need to consider before you decide what approach to take will depend upon whether you are an adult with eczema or a parent of a child with eczema. The severe exclusion diets sometimes used to treat adult eczema can be extremely unsafe for children and should never be undertaken without medical advice.

Because there is no single reliable test for food sensitivity, one of the most important factors in identifying potential triggers is your own observation. Keeping a Food Diary in which you note down everything you consume is a good way to detect whether there is any significant pattern of reaction to a particular food or foods. As well as noting down what is eaten, you should note any symptoms, such as increased itching, redness etc that occurs after eating a particular food. Over a period of four to six weeks you may begin to notice a pattern emerging.



Deciding to focus of your diet and trying to identifying what foods you react to can often be a hard and sometimes long process. It will require willpower and patience, but if you do happen to identify that you have a certain food intolerance, the subsequent relief from avoiding this food will be well worth it.

Here are Ten tips for Parents to talk with their teen about - you can empower your teen and here are some of the tools to help you.

Before I give you the first ten tips, there are some things you and your teen need to remember:

* You have the right to a healthy relationship.

* You deserve better. Do not put up with abuse.

* You are not alone. Teens from all backgrounds are in, have been in, or know someone in an abusive relationship.

* you have done nothing wrong. It is not your fault that your partner abuses you.

* The longer you stay in an abusive relationship, the more intense the violence will become. It does not get better over time.

* Being drunk or high is not an excuse for abuse.

* No one is justified in attacking you just because he or she is angry.

TIPS ON DATING VIOLENCE:

1. Abuse in a dating relationship can be confusing and frightening at any age. But for teenagers, who are just beginning to date and develop romantic relationships, this abuse is especially difficult.

2. Surveys show dating violence is not uncommon among teens. When the abuse is physical or sexual, it can be easy to identify. Emotional abuse is much harder to recognize, but no less damaging.

3. Dating violence can be tough to talk about honestly. It can be uncomfortable to bring up and embarrassing to acknowledge. But with dating violence a fact of life for many teen couples, we've got to break the silence.

4. Sometimes it's easier to explore thoughts and feelings using this kind of example than it is to talk about our own experiences.

Brenda is 15 and has never had a boyfriend before. She recently started dating Frank. She thinks he is so cute. Her friends all tell her how lucky she is because she has a boyfriend. At first, Brenda thought it was sweet that Frank began calling her all the time. He always wants to know whom she is with, where she is, and when she'll be home. He has told her that she was meant to be with him and him only, forever.

Recently, Frank has started belittling her in front of his friends, insulting her, and telling her she is fat. He doesn't want her to spend time with certain of her friends - he thinks they are a bad influence. He threatens to break up with her if she won't do what he says, and that no one else will ever want her. Brenda wants to make Frank happy. In fact, she'll do anything to keep her boyfriend. She things this is what being in a relationship is all about.

5. Relationship violence often starts as emotional or verbal abuse and can quickly escalate into physical or sexual violence. And although many teens know of at least one student who has been a victim of relationship violvence, most parents either don't know it exists or don't know it is an issue.

6. Relationship Violence is a pattern of behavior used by someone to maintain control over his or her partner.

7. Relationship violence can take the form of verbal, physcial, emotional, or even sexual abuse.

8. Relationship Violence is not about getting angry or having a disagreement.

9. In an abusive relationship one partner is afraid of and intimidated by the other.

10. How often does it happen?

24% of severe injuries and deaths occuse when the victim is tryng to leave or has already left the relationship.

Relationhsip violence is the number one cause of injury to women between the ages of 15-44.

63% of date rape victims are young women between the ages of 14 and 17.

70% of pregnant teenagers are abused by their partners.
