Nutrisystem Alternatives - What Other Weight Loss Programs Are There?

There are many people who have tried Nutrisystem as a way to lose weight, they were successful however Nutrisystem is not for everyone. Some people can not follow the set diet plans, or find the foods not suitable for their taste palette. So what other diet programs are there available for people desperate to lose the pounds?

We all know by now that, diet plans such as the Atkins diet do not work in the long run and are extremely unhealthy for our long-term health. Good diet plans are ones that still offer the body a whole range of nutrients and vitamins allowing us to carry on with our daily routine without feeling tired, irrational or stressed.

Other set diet plans normal leave you feeling hungry after a meal, as the focus is on quantity instead of quality. The quality of the foods we eat, when dieting is important not only to gain overall health but also to keep our bodies stocked up on energy and nutrients to make it through the day.

One alternative to consider to the Nutrisystem diet is Medifast. Medifast has quickly established itself as a key player in the field of diet foods. Followers of the Medifast plan have found themselves losing up to 5lbs in one week whilst following a set plan of soups, snacks, drinks and puddings. The Medifast diet also has a range for diabetic sufferers or those who are gluten intolerant.

There are many differences between Medifast and Nutrisystem, namely that Medifast has been able to produce greater weight loss results in the first weeks. Users of Nutrisystem report an average of 2lbs a week whilst users of Medifast report an average of 4lbs a week.

Most dieters have also found it easier to stick to the Nutrisystem diet as this does allow eating of chocolate and cakes which are typically foods that need to be avoided whilst dieting. Nutrisystem does not discourage the eating of sweet goods, but instead trans fat. A person can go without trans-fat and not even notice it, whilst many adults have developed what is known as a sweet tooth and they like to indulge in their puddings, snacks and cakes.

Medifast also only allows one green meal a day, all other consumptions during the day are in the form of snacks, shakes, drinks and soups leaving many dieters to feel as if they have not consumed a proper meal until night-time.

The recommendation for those looking for a diet to follow, is to try one of the above diets first. If after a month, you are not seeing the results you would like to see or feel that the diet is not for you, then take a break of a week and start on the other diet. It is personal preference as to which diet will be the best for you. Both Medifast and Nutrisystem are good in their own ways and have helped many to lose the pounds over the years.
