Power Nutrition Basics

What does it mean to provide your body with the right structural materials? Are you aware that your body requires sufficient amounts of these ‘right materials’ to repair and maintain existing tissues and grow new tissues? Do you understand the power of nutrition and how it can transform your body? If you want to lose weight and do it the right way you need to understand the fundamentals of nutrition A.S.A.P. So, what is the right stuff? Lets get to the nitty gritty and give your brain a quick power boost to get you on your way!!

The Right Stuff!

1. Over million of years your body has developed precise mechanisms to utilize chemicals and convert them into muscles, bones, organs, the brain! Any guess as to what these chemicals are? I’ll give you a hint: Mainstream Media talks about them all the time as miracle pills. Maybe, they really are. For growth, maintenance and repair make sure you get the correct nutrients. Stay away from that man made stuff!

2. Half of the dry weight of your body is protein. Every structure of your body is virtually constructed by pure protein. Even your genes are pure protein! Make sure to ingest the highest quality r protein, and the right amount. Too little and you suffer. Too much and it can become toxic.

3. What would flesh look like if your body’s electrons were spinning out of control? It wouldn’t be flesh, and you wouldn’t be you. When your electrons are in harmony with one another you stay healthy indefinitely. What do you need to do to keep your flesh healthy and to lose weight easier without damage to your bodily systems? Antioxidants! The fellows who will help you fight those free radicals.

Putting it all together

Nutrients, protein, and antioxidants all play a vital role in the evolution of the human body. When losing weight it is of great importance that you consume the right types of food so you do not create any long lasting effects that could damage your body. By eating correctly you can lose weight, feel great and create a powerful body and mind that can endure and supersede life’s current stressors.

The Top 10 Tips for Dealing with Problem Behavior in the Workplace

I personally struggle with the term “managing people”, because I firmly believe that people cannot be managed – only processes and systems can. How many times have you heard it said – “Why won’t my employees just do as they are asked?”

Despite all our best efforts at “managing”, we have very little control over other people’s actions, including the people that work with or for us. We can inspire, motivate, guide or threaten them, but the choice to act in a certain way is up to the individual.

Today’s workplaces are complex environments – it is a rare occasion when all employees get on together and work enthusiastically and constructively to achieve the goals of the business. Problem behavior on the part of employees can erupt for a variety of reasons. Here are ten tips for dealing with it.

1. Recognize that problem behavior usually has a history

It usually develops over time and seldom from a single incident. As a manager, it is your responsibility to be alert to the early warning signs and deal with the underlying causes before the situation reaches a crisis.

2. Ask yourself: "Am I partly or wholly responsible?"

If the problem is in your team, then you are at least partly responsible for it. Perhaps you were blind to the signs the individual was undoubtedly leaving you, or you chose to ignore them and hope they would go away. Perhaps you hadn’t been managing that individual’s performance on a regular basis, and so missed an opportunity to discover the problem earlier. Whatever the reason, responsibility lies with you in some part.

You would be surprised how frequently it is the manager who has created, or at least contributed to problems of employee behavior. Having an abrasive style, being unwilling to listen, and being inattentive to the nuances of employee behavior are all factors that contribute to the manager's need to thoroughly examine what is going on.

3. Don't focus only on the overt behavior

When confronted by an angry or upset employee, it's easy to attack the person and target their behaviour rather than examine the factors that underlie the behavior. Often, this takes patience, careful probing, and a willingness to forgo judgment until you really understand the situation.

4. Be attentive to the "awkward silence" and to what is not said

When an employee is obviously reluctant to communicate, it's almost a sure sign that more lurks beneath the surface. Often, employees will hold back because they feel unsafe. They may test the waters by airing a less severe or kindred issue in order to see what kind of a response they get. In order to get the full story and encourage forthrightness, the manager has to read between the lines and offer the concern and support necessary to get the employee to open up.

5. Clarify before your confront

Chances are, when an issue first surfaces, you will be given only a fragmentary and partial picture of the problem. You may have to dig deep to surface important facts, and talk to others who may be involved. One safe assumption is that each person will tend to present the case from his or her viewpoint, which may or may not be the way it really is. Discretion and careful fact-finding are often required to get a true picture.

6. Be willing to explore the possibility that you have contributed to the problem

This isn't easy, even if you have reason to believe it's so, because you may not be fully aware of what you have done to fuel the fire. Three helpful questions to ask yourself:

• Is this problem unique, or does it have a familiar ring as having happened before?,

• Are others in my organization exhibiting similar behaviors?, and finally,

• Am I partially the cause of the behavior I am criticizing in others?

•

Once you understand how you have contributed, you can decide to take action yourself to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

7. Plan your strategy

Start by defining, for yourself, what changes you would like to see take place, then, follow this sequence:

Meet with the person and let them know that there is a problem.

State the problem as you understand it and explain why it is important that it be resolved

Gain agreement that you've defined the problem correctly, and that the employee understands that it must be solved

Ask for solutions, using open-ended questions such as: "What are you willing to do to correct this problem?" In some cases, you may have to make it clear what you expect

Get a dedication that the employee will take the required actions

Set deadlines for finishing the actions. In the case of a repeated problem, you may want to advise the employee of the consequences of failing to take corrective action

Follow up on the deadlines you've set

8. Treat the employee as an adult and expect adult behavior

To some extent, expectation defines the result. If you treat the employee as a naughty child, then you should expect a naughty child to respond. If you indicate - by your actions or by the content or tone of your voice - that you expect adult behavior, then that's what you're likely to get.

9. Treat interpersonal conflicts differently

If the problem behavior stems from a personality conflict between two employees, have each one answer these questions:

(1) How would you describe the other person?

(2) How does he or she make you feel?

(3) Why do you feel that the other person behaves the way he/she does?

(4) What might you be able to do to alleviate the situation?

(5) What would you like the other person to do in return?

10. Gain agreement on the steps to be taken and results expected

A problem is not really "fixed" until it stays fixed. Everyone involved must agree that the steps taken (or proposed) will substantially alleviate the problem. This includes you as manager, and the steps you personally will take to ensure you are not contributing to similar problem in the future.

Finally, agree how you will both monitor the issue. What needs to take place for you both to be satisfied that the issue has been completely resolved. Write this down and use it as your measure of success.

Health Benefits of Noni Juice

Noni Juice, Morinda Citrifolia

Morinda Citrifolia , a deciduos creeping vine with twining stems and white flowers which is native to Malaysia, Austrailia, and Polynesia, is gaining popularity in the west due to it’s apparently wide ranging health benefits. Part of the Madder family, Morinda’s thick, intertwined purple roots are harvested in the spring and fall for use in herbal medicine and to make the increasingly popular noni juice.

The Polynesian culture has long used morinda to treat a wide variety of symptoms ranging from respiratory problems, poor digestion, and high blood pressure to menstrual problems and immune deficiency. Rich in vitamin C, noni juice also contains the hill spectrum of amino acids, as well as naturally occurring vitamins, minerals, trace elements, enzymes, beneficial alkaloids , co-factors and plant sterols.

Recent research suggests that noni root compounds contain natural sedative properties and may lower blood pressure. Biochemist , Dr Ralph Heinicke, asserts that proxeronine, an alkaloid precursor to a vital compound called xeronine, helps in the normalization of abnormally functioning cells. Heinicke claims that noni juice provides a safe and effective way to increase xeronine levels, which can be decreased by anger, stress, trauma, disease and injury.

"Rich in vitamin C, morinda provides natural antioxidants that support the kidneys, increasing the flow of urine to flush toxins from the body. It works to correct problems with the structure of proteins and cells. Working at the cellular level, morinda solves problems within the body ranging from cancer to digestive distress." - From Prescription For nutritional Healing, by Phyllis A Balch, CNC

Depression

Morinda contains antidepressant compounds in the form of two sugars, inulin and nystose, as well as succinic acid, a compound created from simple sugars. Morinda also contains xeronine, which brings about a feeling of well-being by opening brain receptor sites to receive more endorphin hormone.

Rheumatoid Arthritis

There is promising evidence that morinda helps reduce inflammatory conditions while strengthening bones and ligaments. People with rheumatoid arthritis report relief from pain and swelling as well as an increase in mobility.

Menstrual Problems

Traditional Chinese medicine has prescribed Morinda for centuries to treat irregular menstrual cycles in women, especially when accompanied by pain in the lower back or pelvic area.

Other Benefits

Studies show that noni stimulates the immune system, regulating cell function and cellular regeneration of damaged cells. It's also been shown to increase stamina and endurance and is thought to be beneficial in treating impotence and infertility.

Morinda works slowly, and is best taken daily over a period of six to eight weeks for best results.

Some Golf Grip Tips To Improve Your Golf Game

You may well be shocked or at least taken aback at how many players there are who work typically on their swing action but hardly ever (if ever) work on their golf grip.

In this instance, I mean the golf grip of their hands, not the rubber grip on the shaft. When you think about it though, the full swing action begins with the golf grip, which will need to boost its relevance in getting it correct.

If your golf grip does not work, why should anything that comes after work? There is a unbiased grip for any golf enthusiast. That golf grip is when your arm hangs straight down from the shoulder socket and the direction of your target side hand.

It can make no distinction whether you use an overlapping, interlocking, or ten-finger grip. What IS crucial is the slope the club is placed in your hand.To uncover your neutral grip, to begin with take your address spot, but without having a golf club, and make it possible for both arms to hang downward from the shoulders. Remain relaxed, there ought to be no stiffness in your arms or hands.

The majority of golfers find that their target side arm hangs anywhere in between the midsection of the target side thigh to the inside of the thigh, based on the width of foot position and or the width of the upper body.

As you start looking down at your target side hand pay notice to the angle it hangs. A number of of you will view two knuckles of the hand, many can see three, and a few could even see four. It isn't going to matter how many you see. No matter what the number, this is your body's way of informing you its natural predisposition and that is the neutral angle for your golf grip.

Whenever you place your target side hand on the golf club it ought to be at the identical angle you just saw.The golf club then extends diagonally from in between the first and second joint of the index finger to the bottom part of the pinkie finger. Shut the fingers and then shut the hand with the heel pad on top of the shaft with the thumb to the rear of the shaft. This provides force from the heel pad downward and the last three fingers apply pressure upwards.

Then take the lifeline of the trailing hand, situated between the thumb and heel pads, and position it on the thumb of the target side hand. The lifeline towards the thumb exerts the pressure. The right forefinger should be segregated, in a "triggering position", yet with no pressure. It is crucial to fully grasp that the forefinger and target side thumb both be on the similar side and angle of the shaft for the perfect support.

The trailing thumb ought to be on the target side of the shaft. You under no circumstances want the thumbs to apply any pressure. Last but not least, as a way for the hands to perform together, they need to be parallel to each other. This might all appear tricky, but try it and see for yourself if discovering the proper grip angle doesn't enhance your shots.

Nutrition for Bodybuilders- Part 1

Without proper nutrition you will never achieve success as a bodybuilder. If you aren't aware of the crucial role that proper diet plays in developing your physique then this article will help outline everything you need to know about nutrition building muscle mass and then some. In part 1 of this series I will discuss the first 5 most general areas regarding nutrition that you need to be aware of.

The first 5 tenents of proper nutrition and building lean muscle mass to be discussed in this article include protein, carbohydrates, fats, eating more frequently and pretraining meals.

1. Protein: Never underestimate the importance of protein in your diet. If you had to choose one macronutrient to focus on in your nutrition plan it should be protein. The common rule of thumb is to consume 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight on a daily basis. If you find that recovering from a workout or adding size is becoming a struggle or you are not achieving the results that you want you can try to up your protein intake to 1.5 grams per pound of bodyweight.

2. Carbohydrates: Carbohydrates offer a double whammy in helping you build lean muscle mass. If you want to maximize growth you need to have an adequate carbohydrate supply. When digested carbs will convert into glucose which can be used as immediate fuel or a source of energy during your workouts. When the body has surplus stores of glucose it will be used as muscle glycogen which is stored energy that can influence how fast your body will recover from a workout. It will also increase your body's endurance for exercise. Carbohydrates can also influence muscular growth because they help boost insulin levels. Insulin in turn helps move amino acids into the muscles which can ultimately enhance growth.

3. Fats: A common mistake that newbie bodybuilders make is to avoid fats. Fats aren't necessarily bad! The high-quality fats, mono and polyunsaturated fats, can play a noteworthy role when trying to achieve greater muscle mass. Fat will work within the body to help decrease the burning of both glucose and amino acids. The more slowly your body burns glucose or amino acids the more readily available these components are in assisting muscular growth. Restricting the fat in your diet can also limit how much testerone your body produceswhich will limit your ability to achieve greater muscle mass.

4. Meal Frequency: Six vs. Three meals a day. Eating frequently throughout the day is the way to go to achieve your goals. The idea behind this is to supply your system with nonstop distribution of nutrients to promote continuous muscle healing and growth. If you tend to eat fewer and larger meals then your system will respond with bloating, poor absorption of nutrients and increased fat storage. Plan your meals and in between snacks so you are consuming some nutrients every 2 to 3 hours.

5. Pretraining Meals: Never eat a huge meal before your workouts. A preworkout meal should be well-proportioned with the right combination of macronutrients. Eating a well-balanced preworkout meal can help raise your level of insulin which will help decrease the amount of tissue destruction that goes along with aggressive training. Elevated insulin levels with an acceptable supply of amino acids can minimize the affects of muscle fiber breakdown during your workouts.
